Panbassadors Meng Meng and Jiao Qing to Germany for International Cooperation on Giant Panda Research and Conservation

2018-09-17

In the summer of 2013, a panda cub came into the world with loud cry and was named Meng Meng and nicknamed Einstein Meng because of her fur style resembling physicist Albert Einstein.

However, the link between Meng Meng and Germany has not ended. After the farewell ceremony to Meng Meng and Jiao Qing holding at Panda Base on Jun. 23, 2017, they stepped on the journey to Germany – the homeland of Albert Einstein in the early morning on the 24th to accomplish their missions as panbassadors. Meng Meng could rekindle her relationship with Albert Einstein.

In fact, as early as 2016 the Berlin Zoo in Germany had already prepared itself to welcome Meng Meng and Jiao Qing. Covering an area of nearly 5500m2, the newly built panda house is full of Chinese elements.
